Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Great Boyka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Umair Kayani!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kayani lands with a straight right. Boyka didn't see that one coming.
Boyka showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kayani.
Kayani connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Boyka connects with a solid leg kick.
Kayani throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Kayani takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
No luck for Boyka with that takedown attempt.
Boyka wants to slow Kayani down by chopping away at his legs.
Boyka throws a nice outside leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kayani throws a nice looking combination but Boyka bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Kayani throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A telegraphed right hand from Kayani misses the target.

Kayani avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kayani fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Boyka fails with an attempt to clinch.
Boyka avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kayani throws a series of punches but Boyka avoids them all with ease.
Kayani swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kayani swinging wildly here.
A combination from Kayani does no damage.
Kayani keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Boyka fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kayani, pushing him back against the cage.
Kayani is looking to break free of the clinch but Boyka has double underhooks.

Boyka pulls guard successfully.

Boyka had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kayani defends it easily.
Kayani must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Boyka not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Boyka has a closed guard, preventing Kayani from standing up.
Kayani postures up.
Boyka manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kayani manages to get himself to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Boyka has gone for a leg lock! Kayani slips out almost immediately though and dives into Boyka's guard.
Kayani wants to get up but he can't break Boyka's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boyka wants to sweep here but Kayani controlling him for the moment.

Boyka pushes Kayani off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Kayani chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Boyka can pounce on him.
Nice shot by Kayani.
Kayani misses with the combination.
Danga de danga de dang - Kayani scores with a four punch combination!
Kayani throws a right hand that Boyka ducks under and follows up with a left that Boyka also avoids with ease.
Kayani avoids the body shot from Boyka.
Umair Kayani is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kayani swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kayani throws a combination that misses
and Boyka counters with a good, hard body kick but Kayani shrugs it off.
Kayani looks gassed!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Boyka rushes Kayani and presses him up against the cage.
Kayani is trying to break the clinch but Boyka is controlling him.

Boyka breaks the clinch.
Kayani swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Boyka throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A nice inside leg kick there by Boyka. That's going to slow Kayani down.
Boyka tries to land a front kick but Kayani steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Boyka tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kayani swivels and escapes.
Kayani swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Boyka throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Umair Kayani has been cut.
Boyka tries to clinch but Kayani is having none of it.

Boyka instigates a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Great Boyka will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Umair Kayani's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Boyka tries for a takedown but Kayani sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Boyka will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Boyka.
Boyka throws a nice outside leg kick.
Boyka misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kayani misses with a few strikes there.
Great Boyka is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kayani lands a jab-cross combination.


Boyka is rocked!
Kayani wobbles Boyka with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Kayani dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Boyka to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Umair Kayani!
