Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brad Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pat Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnes comes to the cage accompanied by Red Right Hand - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Hughes is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by We're Not Gonna Fall. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brad Barnes!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pat Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes blocks a head kick by Barnes.
Barnes misses with a jab, cross combination.
The fighters circle momentarily. Barnes darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Hughes gets the takedown into side control.
Hughes tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Hughes goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Barnes has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hughes but great work by Barnes.
Hughes is looking to regain half guard here but Barnes keeps moving and retains side control.

Hughes is looking for a sweep. Barnes is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hughes shoots in for a double leg but Barnes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Barnes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

It looks like Pat Hughes has been cut.
Barnes throws a push kick but Hughes slaps the foot to one side.
Hughes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Barnes's waist but Barnes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hughes off to one side.

Barnes looks to land a combination but Hughes avoids it well.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brad Barnes will probably get the nod.
