And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazuo Hanayama!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Komissarov with a poor takedown
and Hanayama counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Komissarov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hanayama connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hanayama takes a swing at Komissarov's ribcage but misses.
Komissarov doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Komissarov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrei Komissarov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Komissarov. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hanayama tries to stand but Komissarov is controlling from the bottom.
Oh Komissarov is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Komissarov seems to have got his legs back now.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hanayama accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hanayama got a little sloppy there for a moment and Komissarov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hanayama has managed to get both his arms back between Komissarov's legs - danger averted.

Komissarov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hanayama.

Hanayama comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hanayama drops Komissarov with a right and a left! Hanayama comes rushing in but Komissarov regains his composure and manages to keep Hanayama in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hanayama wanted to stand there but Komissarov had control of the position.

Kazuo Hanayama showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
