Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Santiago De Jesus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Minotauro Jackson! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson with a lazy takedown attempt and De Jesus moves into the clinch. Jackson is working for takedown but De Jesus is calmly controlling the position for now. De Jesus misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Jackson.
De Jesus breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as De Jesus sprawls well. De Jesus wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet. Santiago De Jesus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Minotauro Jackson. De Jesus fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jackson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. De Jesus takes the fight into the clinch. De Jesus will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Jackson up against the cage.

Jackson wants to take the fight to the mat but De Jesus manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. De Jesus lands a good knee to the midsection. Jackson won't want to take too many of those. Jackson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but De Jesus gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Jackson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. De Jesus content just to control the position here. Jackson tries to reverse the position but De Jesus maintains control.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Santiago De Jesus wasn't doing enough on the ground. Jackson doesn't succeed with the takedown and De Jesus counters with a good, hard body kick but Jackson shrugs it off. De Jesus throws a leg kick which misses Jackson's front leg but catches the back leg as Jackson tries to avoid it. De Jesus closes the distance and clinches. De Jesus throws a knee to the head but misses.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as De Jesus takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Jackson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. De Jesus gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. De Jesus using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jackson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
