The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markstrom throws a head kick that misses.
Fitch closes this distance looking for a takedown but Markstrom circles away.
Markstrom lands a nice looking body kick.
Fitch throws a nice looking combination but Markstrom bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Markstrom on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Markstrom moves in looking to clinch but Fitch pushes him off.
Markstrom tries to clinch up.
Fitch missing with a left hand there. Markstrom was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fitch thows a huge punch but Markstrom dodges it nicely.
Fitch is looking for a kimura here.
Markstrom is looking for a sweep. Fitch is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Markstrom is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fitch pulls his head out easily.

Markstrom has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fitch is working away from the top position though.

Markstrom is desperately trying to improve his position but Fitch has a good base and remains in mount.
Fitch is working for a guillotine from mount but Markstrom frees his head quite easily.
Fitch wants to finish this one by submission but Markstrom is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Fitch.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Fitch has control of Markstrom's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Markstrom regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Markstrom tries to hold on but Fitch postures up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fitch has hold of Markstrom's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Markstrom manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Fitch looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Fitch is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Markstrom has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Markstrom!

Mattias Markstrom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Markstrom looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Markstrom wants to stand and escape but instead Fitch has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Jon Fitch will probably get the nod.

Markstrom is looking to clinch but Fitch is avoiding it.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Markstrom enables Fitch to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Markstrom manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Markstrom manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Markstrom thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Markstrom lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Fitch is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Fitch regains half guard.

Fitch is trying to stand up here but Markstrom is controlling him well.
Fitch won't allow Markstrom to pass to mount.
Markstrom seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Fitch is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
