Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Wes Ekwall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Valentino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ekwall might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Linkin Park--One Step Closer. Wes Ekwall could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to James Valentino's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wes Ekwall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Valentino! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valentino clinches. A battle for position here, against the cage. Ekwall turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ekwall manages to end up in side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Valentino is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valentino is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Valentino manages to get back to half guard. Ekwall working the head and body with strikes. Valentino is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Ekwall scores with a couple of nice shots. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ekwall working Valentino over with strikes. Ekwall scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Ekwall landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Valentino has hold of Ekwall's hands but Ekwall slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Ground and pound from Ekwall. Ekwall looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's one minute gone in the round. Valentino is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Ekwall scores with a couple of nice shots. Ekwall working the head and body with strikes. Valentino is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ekwall pulls his head out easily. Ekwall passes the guard and advances to mount! Valentino is trying desperately to improve position. Valentino is bucking up trying to escape but Ekwall cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
It looks like James Valentino has been cut. Valentino is trying desperately to improve position. Ekwall fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Valentino is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ekwall putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Valentino is still in real trouble! Can Ekwall finish him? Valentino is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Valentino is squirming around, avoiding Ekwall's attempts to control the action. Ekwall postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Valentino in real trouble here! The ref calls for Valentino to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
