Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and cj charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). charles has chosen cant be stopped as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, cj charles! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Jones looking to pass the guard. Jones pushing down on charles's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Jones is looking to advance position but charles won't allow it. Jones is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Jones is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. charles doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jones. Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so charles is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold. Jones trying to pass the guard but charles defending well.

Jones prevents charles from improving his position. Jones wants to free his trapped foot but charles is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. charles doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in charles's guard now. Jones wants to pass the guard but charles is keeping the position. charles looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Jones has gone for a leg lock! charles slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jones's guard. charles thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. charles advances position into side control! charles looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Jones manages to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. charles is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time charles. Jones wants to control but charles is keeping busy.

Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! charles escapes and throws Jones's legs to the side, diving into side control! charles tries to move to mount but Jones blocks the move with his legs. Jones is trying to get back to half guard. charles is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jones has escaped the position, nice work there. charles tries to move into full mount but can't pass Jones's legs. Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't.

There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. charles thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. charles is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jones is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones is trying to improve his position. Jones manages to work his way to half guard, despite charles's best efforts. Jones looking for submissions off his back. Jones actively working from the bottom here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Paul Jones will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

And that's the end of the fight! Paul Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jones has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
