PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Block Obosranho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abdula Mesopyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Block Obosranho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Abdula Mesopyan!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Obosranho wants to clinch.
Mesopyan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Obosranho sprawls well. Obosranho wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mesopyan gets slowly back to his feet.
Obosranho throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Obosranho shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Obosranho tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mesopyan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mesopyan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Obosranho avoids a kick to the body.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Obosranho is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Obosranho looking for a guillotine here but Mesopyan defends easily.

Obosranho has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mesopyan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Obosranho really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mesopyan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Mesopyan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Obosranho wants to get up but he can't break Mesopyan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Obosranho drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mesopyan dives on top into guard.

Mesopyan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Obosranho is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Obosranho has escaped and now he's on top!

Obosranho jumps guard but Mesopyan stands there with Obosranho around his waist. Obosranho gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mesopyan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
