Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Nate Good! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Gebhard! The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good leaves Gebhard with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Good circles away from the clinch attempt and Good counters with an outside leg kick.
Good lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Gebhard ducks right into an uppercut from Good. Gebhard will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Good avoids the head kick by Gebhard.
Good thuds a left hand into Gebhard's body. Gebhard fails with a takedown attempt. Nate Good has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Gebhard. A jab lands there for Good. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gebhard with a poor takedown and Good makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Gebhard really felt that one! Gebhard looks gassed! The fight stays on the outside here - Gebhard looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Good has closed the distance and engaged Gebhard in a clinch.
Gebhard drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Good gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Good with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Dave Gebhard has been cut. Good scores with a knee to the head.
Good tries a knee to the head but Gebhard blocks it.
Good tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Good putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Gebhard in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Good creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Good has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Gebhard - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Good, and another! Gebhard is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Nate Good! Nate Good very nearly forgot to thank Hopkins Athletics amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
