Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sonny Hills (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Bruno Lombardi and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hills shoots in and drives through. Edgar sprawls well.
Hills misses with a wild body shot.
Hills throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hills wants to clinch up but Edgar keeps it at a distance.
Edgar closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hills did well to prevent Edgar getting side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hills keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Edgar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hills got a little sloppy there for a moment and Edgar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hills has managed to get both his arms back between Edgar 's legs - danger averted.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Sonny Hills wasn't active enough on the ground.
Hills dives in and scores a takedown into Edgar 's guard.

Edgar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Ricky Edgar will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hills stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Edgar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Sonny Hills has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
