The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kumalo misses with a jab to the body
and Al Shami counters with a three punch combo that has Kumalo backing up. Kumalo nods at Al Shami to acknowledge the strikes.
Al Shami throws a right hand that Kumalo ducks under and follows up with a left that Kumalo also avoids with ease.
Al Shami throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kumalo counters with a left and a right that stings Al Shami.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kumalo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kumalo misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Al Shami.
Al Shami will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kumalo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Al Shami misses with a two punch combination.
Al Shami moves out of range as Kumalo strikes.
Kumalo misses with a right hand
and Al Shami counters with a left and a right that hurts Kumalo! He wobbles and falls to the floor - he's in big trouble! Al Shami jumps into full mount!

Kumalo is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Al Shami is landing with some decent strikes but Kumalo is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Al Shami misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Al Shami can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kumalo is looking to escape.

Kumalo is squirming around, avoiding Al Shami's attempts to control the action.
Al Shami throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Al Shami throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Kumalo because Al Shami loaded up on that one.
Al Shami lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Al Shami! Kumalo is hurt baaadly! Al Shami is firing away with more strikes - Kumalo is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
