Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Rashad Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Frank Master!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans throws a body punch but Master moves out of range.
Evans keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Evans throws a hook to the side of Master's head but Master sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Master uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Evans.
Master dives in and grabs Evans's left leg, looking for a takedown. Evans pushes down on Master's head and hops out.
Evans feints a jab promting Master to slip. Evans then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Master slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Evans lunges at Master with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Master's hand.
Master shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Evans but Evans pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rashad Evans has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Master.
Nice uppercut there from Evans.
Evans grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Master takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Evans cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Rashad Evans!
A relieved looking Rashad Evans thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
