Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Hobbs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Robertson! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Robertson moves in looking to clinch but Hobbs pushes him off. Robertson wants to clinch but Hobbs slips to the side and Robertson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Robertson wants to clinch and Hobbs makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Hobbs circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hobbs punishes Robertson's body with a nice straight punch. James Robertson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Robertson tries to clinch there but Hobbs circles away.
Hobbs clobbers Robertson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like James Robertson has been cut. Hobbs misses with a takedown attempt - Robertson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A punch combination from Robertson misses. A lazy left from Hobbs finds it's target. Hobbs listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Robertson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hobbs paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hobbs throws a right and a left that both miss. Hobbs avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Hobbs is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Robertson tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Hobbs counters with a one-two to the body. Hobbs keeps the fight on the outside. Robertson moves in looking to clinch but Hobbs pushes him off. Robertson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robertson pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Robertson prevents the takedown attempt.
Hobbs avoids a wild elbow strike from Robertson. The referee is keeping an eye on Robertson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

With the fighters up against the cage, Robertson throws an elbow but misses. Robertson creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. A battle for position here, against the cage. Robertson prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Hobbs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hobbs has clasped his hands together around Robertson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

You can see the frustration on Robertson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hobbs looks up at the clock and then as Robertson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hobbs smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Hobbs grinds an elbow into Robertson's temple. Robertson parries the strikes from Hobbs easily there. Hobbs is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Robertson to escape.
Robertson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Robertson on the wrong end of some ground and pound. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Robertson is looking to regain half guard here but Hobbs keeps moving and retains side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Hobbs dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Robertson's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Robertson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Hobbs's brow. Hobbs jumps guard but Robertson stands there with Hobbs around his waist. Hobbs gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Hobbs landing with the ground and pound. Hobbs has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Robertson wants to stand and escape but Hobbs is having none of it. Robertson trying to control the position.
Hobbs working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Robertson's head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Robertson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Hobbs missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hobbs throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hobbs is looking to work some ground and pound but Robertson has wrist control. Robertson is controlling Hobbs's posture. Hobbs throws a big right hand that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hobbs loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hobbs postures up in Robertson's guard and throws a big left but Robertson blocks it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hobbs accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hobbs working some strikes from top position. Robertson pulls Hobbs in close to prevent any damage. Hobbs works over Robertson with some ground and pound from guard. Robertson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Hobbs decides to pull guard. Robertson wants to stand and escape but instead Hobbs has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Robertson has Hobbs pulled in close to control his posture. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hobbs in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Robertson has control of Hobbs's left arm, preventing Hobbs from doing any damage. Robertson is trying to keep Hobbs in close.

A close second round but James Robertson will probably get the nod - 10:9. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Hobbs is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. The fight stays on the outside here - Robertson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Robertson lands a big right hand that sends Hobbs crashing to the mat! Robertson stays standing though and waves Hobbs back to his feet!

Oh Hobbs is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's one minute gone in the round. Robertson tries to clinch up but Hobbs circles away and keeps his distance. Hobbs seems to have got his legs back now. Robertson is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Hobbs hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). James Robertson! James Robertson was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
