The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moraes misses with a takedown attempt and Kimura decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Moraes's guard. Kimura sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Moraes's guard. Kimura wants to pass the guard but Moraes is defending well. Moraes looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Kimura wants to work for an arm triangle but Moraes is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
