Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Harrison Duke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nikac Komitata!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Komitata throws a leg kick but Duke sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Komitata is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Duke.
Duke throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A chopping leg kick lands by Komitata.
Komitata looks to land a body kick but Duke moved away.
Duke shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Komitata but Komitata pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Duke blocks a head kick by Komitata.
Duke scores with a hook.

Komitata fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Duke.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Duke feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Komitata's calf.

Komitata turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Duke dives in and grabs Komitata's left leg, looking for a takedown. Komitata pushes down on Duke's head and hops out.

Duke is fighting to break Komitata's control of his arms but Komitata is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Komitata is on top in guard.

Duke is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Komitata is aware though and is defending well.

Duke working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Komitata doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Komitata manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Komitata is working Duke over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Komitata slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Duke looking for a guillotine here but Komitata defends easily.

A close round but Nikac Komitata will probably get the nod.
That's time! Duke's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Duke throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Komitata's waist but Komitata gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Duke off to one side.

Komitata is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Duke swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Komitata tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Komitata throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Duke blocks it with crossed arms.
Komitata with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Komitata does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Duke throws a head kick but Komitata moves out of range.

and Komitata counters with a good low kick that Duke was not able to check.

Komitata pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Komitata checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Komitata throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Duke throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Duke takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Duke closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Duke is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Duke has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Duke thows a huge punch but Komitata dodges it nicely.
Duke looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Komitata with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Duke is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Komitata reverses the position - he's now on top in Duke's guard.
Komitata slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Duke looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Komitata is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Komitata advances position into side control!
Komitata moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Duke might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Harrison Duke.
Well Komitata has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
