And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Solomon Ares!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burns closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Burns.

Ares gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Burns regains guard.
Ares trying to control the position from guard on top but Burns is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ares scoring with punches to the head and body.


It looks like Josh Burns has been cut.

Burns is working an open guard so Ares takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Burns gets in close and instigates a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Burns unloads a knee to the mid-section. Ares lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Ares softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Ares can't find room to land a body shot as Burns controls the action.

Burns blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Ares turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ares manages to end up in side control.
Ares is looking to take a break and control but Burns is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ares wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Burns, who protects the arm well.
Burns wants to get back to his feet.
Burns struggling a bit here.

Burns managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Ares.

Ares seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Burns does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ares works his foot free and advances to mount.

After winning the bout, Solomon Ares thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
