Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fred Collins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mick Mars!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Collins misses.
Collins tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mars was well out of range. Poor timing from Collins.
Collins throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mars counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Collins throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mars.
Collins throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Fred Collins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Collins lands a jab-cross combination.

Mars scores with a takedown into Collins's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Mars passes Collins's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Mars wants to free his trapped foot but Collins is holding on for dear life with his legs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mars throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Collins is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Fred Collins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mick Mars.
Mars throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Collins will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Mars counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Collins thinking.
Collins throws a right and a left that Mars avoids nicely.
Collins lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mars circles away quickly and effectively.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mars closes the distance and pushes Collins back into the cage.

Collins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Collins stuffs the takedown.

Collins throws a right hand that Mars ducks under and follows up with a left that Mars also avoids with ease.
Collins swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mars cracks a nice hook into Collins's ribs.
Mars throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Collins on the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Collins accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Collins lands a couple of digs.

Mars had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Collins defends it easily.

Mars working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Collins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Collins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mars is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mick Mars showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

and Mars counters with a big head kick but Collins shrugs it off.

and Mars counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Collins throws a body punch but Mars moves out of range.
Mars shoots for a takedown but Collins saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Collins throws a lazy uppercut
and Mars counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mars shoots in looking for a takedown but Collins manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mars's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Mars closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mars lands in his opponent's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mars's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Collins reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Collins taps out! Nice BJJ there by Mars!
