Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Dejesus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akbahi King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Douglas Dejesus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Akbahi King!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Dejesus. Those never looked like landing.
King stuffs the takedown attempt from Dejesus. Dejesus gets slowly back to his feet.
Dejesus misses with a takedown

and King counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Dejesus tries to roll over but King keeps him under control.
King is looking to pass Dejesus's guard but actually Dejesus recovers to full guard.
King looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Dejesus looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kingis looking to pass into half guard but Dejesus pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Dejesus is in guard.
King really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dejesus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
King is controlling Dejesus's posture.
Dejesus trying to stand up but can't free himself from King's guard.
King pulls Dejesus in to control the position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Akbahi King was stalling too much, according to the referee.

King moves into range and clinches up with Dejesus.

Dejesus gets control of King's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dejesus will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
King seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Dejesus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. King is aware though and is defending well.
King trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Dejesus looking to hit a scissor sweep but King is one step ahead there.

Dejesus is working an open guard so King takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dejesus misses with a takedown attempt

and King counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dejesus won't be happy with that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Douglas Dejesus. That's going to take a lot out of him.
King content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Dejesus tries to bench press King off him but King keeps the position.

King tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

King is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dejesus has escaped the position, nice work there.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dejesus being controlled for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

King decides to take the fight back to the feet.
King shoots in looking for a takedown but Dejesus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing King's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

King shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dejesus napping and manages to drive through into side control!
King scores with a couple of short elbows.
King in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Dejesus tries to improve position but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King wants to take a breather but Dejesus manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for King.
King lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Akbahi King dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Dejesus shoots in looking for a takedown but King manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dejesus's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

King has taken the fight to the clinch.
King is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Dejesus gets underhooks to prevent King's takedown attempt.
Dejesus is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Dejesus is looking for a takedown up against the cage. King gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

King turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and King manages to end up in side control.
King staying calm.
Dejesus sneaks back into half guard.

Dejesus wants to get back to full guard.
King is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Dejesus is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of King's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take King's back!

Dejesus is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! King is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Douglas Dejesus!
After winning the bout, Douglas Dejesus thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
