Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Doestevsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Yon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Doestevsky might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to New Divide. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Samuel Doestevsky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Yon! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doestevsky fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yon avoids it really well and circles away. Doestevsky shoots in for a takedown but Yon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Yon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Doestevsky takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Yon darts in and clinches Doestevsky up against the ropes. Yon pulls guard successfully.
Doestevsky wants to control from the top but Yon keeps moving. Yon trying to strike off his back.
Yon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Yon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Doestevsky is one step ahead there. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Doestevsky wants to stand but Yon is controlling his posture from full guard. Yon has his foot on Doestevsky's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Doestevsky works his way back into a safe position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doestevsky wants to control from the top but Yon keeps moving. Yon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Doestevsky defends it easily. Doestevsky has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Doestevsky wants to control from the top but Yon keeps moving. Yon tries to strike from the bottom.
Yon can't keep his opponent in guard - Doestevsky advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Yon gets full guard. Doestevsky won't allow Yon to get back to his feet. Doestevsky landing some decent shots from guard. Doestevsky trying to control but Yon is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Doestevsky postures up.
Yon is controlling Doestevsky's posture. Yon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up. David Yon was stalling too much, according to the referee. Doestevsky avoids a punch combination nicely.
Yon throws a right and a left that Doestevsky avoids nicely. Yon lands a really nice looking cross but Doestevsky seems unphased.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Doestevsky checks a leg kick. Yon stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Samuel Doestevsky. That's going to take a lot out of him. Doestevsky looks for a takedown but Yon sprawls well. Yon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Doestevsky is breathing heavily. The referee warns Doestevsky that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yon thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Doestevsky really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Yon thowing shots but they're missing. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Doestevsky is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Yon lands a heavy elbow. Yon is landing with some decent strikes but Doestevsky is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Doestevsky is rocked! Yon postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Doestevsky badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Yon around the waist but Yon pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Yon is the winner by TKO! Yon jumps onto the ropes and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Yon!
