Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bowman Dell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by .... Dell has chosen UnDead as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bowman Dell! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones misses with a body kick. Jones checks a leg kick nicely. Jones avoids the body shot from Dell.
Jones throws a leg kick and Dell counters with a thumping low kick. Dell lunges at Jones with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jones's hand. Jones misses with a leg kick. Dell scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Dell throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Jones to regain full guard. Dell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dell trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dell is controlling him. Dell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones keeping moving, preventing Dell from controlling successfully. Jones is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bowman Dell wasn't active enough on the ground. Dell misses the shot to the body. Dell moves out of range of the strikes. Jones blocks a head kick by Dell.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A big left from Dell misses. Jones throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dell sees it coming and avoids it easily. Dell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jones throws a good cross that connects.
It looks like Bowman Dell has been cut. Dell throws a body kick that misses. Jones drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jones lands a few punches from side control. Jones misses with the ground and pound. Jones lands an elbow. Dell is looking to regain half guard here but Jones keeps moving and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dell is trying to control Jones's posture but Jones avoids it. Jones tries to move to mount but Dell blocks the move with his legs. Dell is looking for a sweep. Jones cracks Dell with a big right hand but Dell just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Jones trying to control the position but Dell is working away. Dell can't do much from the bottom here. Jones landing strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dell gets back to half guard. Dell slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Dell trying to control the position.
Dell keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Jones throwing strikes but missing. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones wants to control from the top but Dell keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Jones dominated that round. The cut man is working on Bowman Dell's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dell moves away. Jones shoots in looking for a takedown but Dell manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jones's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Jones lands a lovely overhand right. Dell misses with a wild body shot. Dell looks to throw the jab but Jones is out of range. A punch combination from Dell misses. Dell lands a leg kick that knocks Jones off balance momentarily. Dell tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Jones works the jab nicely. Dell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Jones moves out of range of the body kick. Dell fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jones.
That's one minute gone in the round. A jab from Jones misses. The crowd cheers as Dell lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jones doesn't seem phased though. Jones misses the shot to the body. Jones moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
James Jones is winning the standup battle so far. Dell throws a quick inside leg kick. Dell waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jones. Dell walks into a left hand. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones. Jones fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. This has been an exciting period of action! Dell takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Dell dips to his left and cracks Jones with an uppercut!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice uppercut there from Jones. Jones thows a body shot but no joy. Dell has Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Dell tries to work over Jones's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Jones avoiding damage as Dell throws knees to the body.
Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jones scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Jones staying calm. Dell takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dell is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jones off and has taken his back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dell throwing sloppy strikes. Jones is trapped and Dell is scoring with shots to the head and body. Well, with Dell on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Jones is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Dell lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Dell has good solid back control here. Jones trying to control the hands but Dell breaks the grip. The referee is taking a good look at Jones as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Dell!

That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dell missing with punches from the back. Jones rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Dell not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Dell thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Jones is trying to maintain the position but Dell is very close to passing his half guard. Jones blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dell. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bowman Dell will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Bowman Dell's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

and Dell counters with a nice double leg into guard. Dell wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Dell postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Jones looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dell working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jones preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dell trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones has his hands on Dell's head, controlling the position.
James Jones has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dell swivels and escapes. A head kick misses from Dell. Jones scores with a punch to the head. Dell lands a body shot.
Dell fails with a takedown attempt. Jones throws a shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Good exchange - Jones coming out on top. Dell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center. Dell tries to clinch up and Jones counters with a nice body shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones misses with a low kick. Jones tests Dell's chin there with a solid looking shot. A swing and a miss from Jones. Nice uppercut there from Jones.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones lands a nice hook to Dell's body. Dell takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Jones works the jab nicely. Jones has a takedown stuffed. Dell closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Jones is looking to control Dell's arms but Dell gets an underhook and turns him. Now Jones has his back to the cage. Jones breaks the clinch.

Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Jones throws a strike but Dell avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Dell working for a triangle but Jones defends it easily.
Dell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jones content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones with a nice head shot there. Dell keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Dell looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
And that's the end of the fight! James Jones showed his dominance in that final round. I think Jones has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
