Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lawrence King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Coming Home. King has chosen Ennio Morricone - Once Upon a Time in the West as his entrance music. Jon Jones has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jon Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lawrence King! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones misses with a hook
and King counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Jones lands a glancing blow to the side of King's head. A swing and a miss from Jones. King defending well as Jones loads up on a big left hand. Jones throws a low kick but King moves out of range easily. Jones uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by King.
A punch lands to the side of King 's head but he takes it in his stride. Jones throws a jab but it's blocked by King. Jones pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Jones takes a shot right to the bread basket. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones slips a jab from King. Jones misses with a hook. King ducked under it nicely. Jones with a nice cross. King tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jones, as that shot connected.
King misses with a straight left. King uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jones. Jones cracks King with an open hand slap. Jones misses with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. King does a little dance to reset his feet. Jones feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to King's calf. King showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jones.
King walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Jones looks to land a combination but King avoids it well. Jones throws a lazy uppercut
and King counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by King. King trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but King is one step ahead there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! King tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard. King passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jones's head. Jones is defending against the submission attempts here by King.
King uses his free foot to push down on Jones's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jones. Jones is in a horrible position here. King smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
King goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jones turns into him and now he's in King's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to stand but King is controlling from the bottom. King tries to land a sweep but no joy. King has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for King on the ground. King looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and King has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between King's legs - danger averted. King escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. King looking for subs off his back but Jones has passed one foot through into half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jones is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

and King counters with a lovely straight right hand! Jones throws a leg kick and King counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. King ducks under a wild hook from Jones. King ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jones moves away. King pushing out the jab but it's not landing. King lands with a cross. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! King scores with a body shot.
King gets the takedown into side control. King wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working. King throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. King working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. King is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jones is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. King misses with the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jones has escaped the position, nice work there. King goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Jones has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for King but great work by Jones. King tries to buck Jones off but Jones is having none of it. King manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jones's best efforts. King trying to control here.
Jones controlling the action here. King is controlling Jones's position as best he can from this difficult position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. King looking for submissions off his back. King regains full guard. Nicely done. King isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jones stacks King on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jones! King is trying to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. King is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Jones is looking to take a break and control but King is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. King is positioning himself to get back to half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. King is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Jones is one step ahead and moves to full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lawrence King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. King is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. King is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jones is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jones has escaped and now he's on top!

Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round. King punching from mount but Jones doing a good job of avoiding damage. Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position. Jones is in all sorts of trouble here.

King scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Jones avoids the body shot from King.

That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Jones lands a nice hook to King's body. King takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. King looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones is just out of range. King pushing out the jab but it's not landing. King instigates a clinch. King lands a shoulder strike. King tries to throw a body punch but Jones avoids it by throwing King back against the cage. A nice left hand lands by King.

Jones is trying to push King away but King has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. King misses with a short punch on the inside. Stalling in the clinch from King.

Jones sprawls well initially but King persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. King is working for a submission of some sort.

Lawrence King dominated that fourth round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Jon Jones is winning the standup battle so far. Jones lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jones is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Jones throws an uppercut from half a mile away. King sees it coming and avoids it easily. Jones throws a nice looking combination but King bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. King throws a wild combination but nothing lands. King looks to land a right hand but Jones moved out of range. Jones thows a body shot but no joy. Jones throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Jones throws a jab but it's blocked by King. Jones throws a lazy right hand but King sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Jon Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No joy there for King, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A looping hook to the body misses from King. Jones does a little dance to reset his feet. King fails to land with a series of punches.
King moves away from the strike by Jones. Jones throws out a loose jab but King uses good head movement to avoid it. King scores with a jab to the body. Jon Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as King checks a leg kick. King sizes up Jones with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Jones lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

And that's the end of the fight! Lawrence King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well King has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
