Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aaron Koscheck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Captain Obvious!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Obvious has managed to clinch.
Koscheck misses with a hook to the ribs.
Koscheck dodges an elbow strike from Obvious.
Koscheck lands with a left to the head.
Obvious using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Koscheck has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Obvious connects with a knee to the head.


It looks like Aaron Koscheck has been cut.

Koscheck has hold of one of Obvious's legs. Obvious is fighting the takedown attempt but Koscheck gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Koscheck trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Koscheck is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Koscheck is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Koscheck wants to control but Obvious is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Obvious moves into the clinch successfully.
Koscheck avoids the elbow strike from Obvious, against the cage.

Obvious must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Koscheck is controlling Obvious's posture.

Obvious stands up and waves to Koscheck to follow him.
Koscheck fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Obvious looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Koscheck jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Obvious walks away with a smile on his face. Koscheck gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Koscheck goes for a takedown in the clinch but Obvious prevents it.
Obvious creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Koscheck is looking for a takedown.

Captain Obvious is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Koscheck will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Obvious wants to get back to his feet.
Koscheck wants to lay and pray for a moment but Obvious keeps working.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Aaron Koscheck.
Koscheck dives in and grabs Obvious's left leg, looking for a takedown. Obvious pushes down on Koscheck's head and hops out.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Obvious leaves Koscheck with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
