Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Arts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Clarkson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marshall Arts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Clarkson!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clarkson avoids the head kick by Arts.
Clarkson shoots in for a takedown but Arts shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Arts connects with a solid leg kick.
Clarkson checks a leg kick nicely.
Clarkson blocks a jab.
Arts misses with a low kick.
Arts lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Clarkson circles away quickly and effectively.
Arts tries to work over Clarkson's front leg with a kick but Clarkson checks it.
Arts connects with a solid leg kick.
Clarkson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Arts motions for Clarkson to come forward. Arts throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Marshall Arts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Clarkson.

Arts walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Clarkson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Clarkson shoots in and bounces Arts off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Clarkson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Clarkson wants to control from the top but Arts keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Arts is looking to stand up but Clarkson isn't so interested in that idea.

Clarkson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Arts bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Clarkson's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Clarkson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A good leg kick by Arts.

Arts swings for the body but Clarkson moves out of range.
Clarkson misses with a takedown attempt - Arts sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Arts tries to clinch up but Clarkson circles away and keeps his distance.
Arts throws out a leg kick but Clarkson moves out of range and Arts only half commits.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Arts throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Arts lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ryan Clarkson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Arts throws a leg kick which misses Clarkson's front leg but catches the back leg as Clarkson tries to avoid it.

Clarkson's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Arts throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Arts lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Clarkson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Clarkson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Clarkson shoots in for a double leg but Arts sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Marshall Arts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Arts connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Arts tries to close the distance and clinch but Clarkson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A looping hook to the body misses from Arts. Clarkson does a little dance to reset his feet.

Arts throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Clarkson shoots in and drives through. Arts sprawls well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Arts misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
No luck for Clarkson with that takedown attempt.
Marshall Arts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Clarkson.

Arts pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Arts goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Clarkson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Clarkson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Arts is looking for a sweep.

Clarkson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Clarkson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Arts kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Ryan Clarkson gave a mention to Kobra Clothing Inc. in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
