Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Colin Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Colin Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kurt Jackson!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Evans lands.
Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Evans pushes him off.
Jackson wants to clinch.
Jackson fails to land with a series of punches.
Evans fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Jackson is out of range.
Kurt Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch combination from Evans misses.
Evans misses with a looping right.
Evans is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Evans avoids the head kick by Jackson.
Jackson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Evans was well out of range. Poor timing from Jackson.
Evans will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Evans is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jackson.

Jackson moves into the clinch.
Evans is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Jackson tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Evans avoids it.
Evans avoids the elbow strike from Jackson, against the cage.

Evans blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Jackson keeps control of Evans as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Jackson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jackson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Evans scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jackson doesn't seem bothered though.
Jackson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Colin Evans is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Jackson throws a series of punches but Evans avoids them all with ease.
Jackson tries to clinch up.
Evans throws a looping overhand right but Jackson ducks down to avoid it.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Evans connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jackson. Jackson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Evans swings for the body but Jackson moves out of range.
Evans lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Evans cracks Jackson with an open hand slap.
Jackson throws a shot from downtown. Evans moves away and avoids it.
Jackson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jackson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Evans throws a leg kick that misses.
Evans fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jackson manages to avoid it.
Evans slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Jackson is looking to clinch.
Evans pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Evans misses with a hook

and Jackson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Evans's guard now.
Evans looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Evans is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Evans is taking a breather. Jackson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Evans moves into full mount! Jackson won't be happy about that!
Jackson is trying to stand.
Evans looking to ground and pound but Jackson is blocking nicely.
Jackson tries to lock up and control but Evans gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Evans tries to control but Jackson wriggling away.
Evans content just to control the position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Evans lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Evans working the ground and pound effectively.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jackson is looking to get to half guard.
Jackson wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Evans controlling the position easily from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Colin Evans dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Evans swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jackson misses with a few strikes there.
Evans keeps the fight on the outside.
Evans shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jackson eats them both and turns towards Evans to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Evans fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Evans lands with a cross.

Evans drops Jackson with a beautiful combination! Jackson stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Evans is looking for the KO!


Jackson is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Evans avoids a punch combination nicely.
Evans throws a right and a left that Jackson avoids nicely.
Jackson cracks Evans with a right hand to the side of the head.
Jackson keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Evans keeps the fight on the outside.
A jab lands there for Evans.
Jackson is still on wobbly legs! Can Evans finish him?
Jackson lands with a nice body punch.
Jackson seems to have recovered his senses.
Evans swats away the attempt to clinch by Jackson.
Jackson wants to clinch up but Evans keeps it at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
BOOM! Evans lands a beautiful left hook that drops Jackson. Jackson tries to recover but Evans is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Jackson lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Colin Evans!
