Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Oro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gunnar Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Oro swivels and escapes.

Oro drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Oro working the ground and pound from side control.
Wilson wants to control but Oro postures up.
Wilson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Wilson wants to get back to full guard.
Oro trying to control the action but Wilson is working from the bottom.

Oro is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Wilson tries to roll over but Oro keeps him under control.
Oro stalling away here and it's allowed Wilson to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Wilson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Oro drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wilson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wilson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wilson!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Oro can't do much from the bottom here.
Oro tries to buck Wilson off but Wilson is having none of it.

Oro controls Wilson momentarily but Wilson frees himself.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Gunnar Wilson.
Wilson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Oro shoots in but Wilson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Oro shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wilson sprawls well. Wilson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Oro gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Oro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wilson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Oro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wilson somewhat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Gunnar Wilson will probably get the nod.

Gunnar Wilson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Wilson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Oro sprawls well initially but Wilson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Oro is trying to maintain the position but Wilson is very close to passing his half guard.
Wilson controlling the pace.
Oro is not content to let Wilson control the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Oro makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Oro.
Gunnar Wilson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Wilson tries to free his leg and advance position but Oro is retaining full guard.
Wilson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Gunnar Wilson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Wilson throws a series of punches but Oro moves out of range.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wilson enables Oro to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wilson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Oro is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Wilson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Vladimir Oro!
A determined Vladimir Oro didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
