Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shamil Uraev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomski Jarzynski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Uraev might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Godsmack - Cryin Like A Bitch. Shamil Uraev has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shamil Uraev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tomski Jarzynski!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jarzynski throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Uraev's head.


It looks like Shamil Uraev has been cut.

Jarzynski throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Uraev tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jarzynski is in Uraev's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Jarzynski trying to control but Uraev is working from the bottom.
Uraev seems keen to control Jarzynski's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Uraev looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jarzynski is one step ahead there.
Jarzynski wants to control from the top but Uraev keeps moving.

Uraev pushes Jarzynski off and scrambles back to his feet.
Jarzynski shoots in for a takedown but Uraev shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Uraev leaves Jarzynski with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Jarzynski shoots for a double leg takedown but Uraev sprawls well. He's pushed Jarzynski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shamil Uraev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tomski Jarzynski.

Uraev looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Uraev looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Uraev has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Uraev stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Uraev walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Uraev gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jarzynski tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Uraev smiles and moves away.

Uraev clinches up with Jarzynski and pushes him back against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Uraev escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jarzynski tries for a takedown but Uraev circles away easily

and Uraev moves into the clinch.
Uraev stalling in the clinch.
Jarzynski jumps guard but Uraev stands there with Jarzynski around his waist. Jarzynski gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Uraev gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jarzynski.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Uraev breaks the clinch.
Jarzynski tries to clinch but Uraev is having none of it.

Uraev closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Uraev lands in his opponent's guard.
Uraev is stalling in the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jarzynski looking for a sweep. Not yet Jarzynski, not yet.
Uraev trying to control but Jarzynski is working from the bottom.

Shamil Uraev has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jarzynski shoots for a double leg takedown but Uraev sprawls well. He's pushed Jarzynski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Uraev closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jarzynski did well to prevent Uraev getting side control.

Jarzynski darts in trying to clinch

and Uraev counters with a shoot takedown. Jarzynski fights it but they end up in guard.

Uraev gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Jarzynski smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Uraev throws a series of punches but Jarzynski avoids them all with ease.
Uraev pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Jarzynski shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jarzynski lands with a kick to the temple. Uraev shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Uraev throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jarzynski's waist but Jarzynski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Uraev off to one side.

Uraev shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jarzynski as he avoids it easily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Uraev takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Jarzynski tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jarzynski is looking to clinch but Uraev is avoiding it.
Uraev throws a wild body kick that Jarzynski sees coming a mile off.
Jarzynski tries to clinch up but Uraev circles away and keeps his distance.
Jarzynski misses with a takedown attempt - Uraev sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jarzynski is defended easily by Uraev.
Jarzynski shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Uraev but Uraev pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Uraev feints a jab promting Jarzynski to slip. Uraev then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jarzynski slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Uraev throws a head kick but Jarzynski moves out of range.

and Uraev counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Uraev slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Uraev creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Jarzynski is not content to let Uraev control the position.

Uraev stands up and beckons Jarzynski to his feet.

Uraev throws a head kick that misses
enabling Jarzynski to counter with a crisp jab.
Uraev fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Uraev stuffs the takedown.
Jarzynski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Uraev.
Uraev circles away from the clinch attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jarzynski throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Uraev stuffs the takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uraev looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Uraev shoots in for a takedown but Jarzynski shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Uraev gets a double leg takedown into Jarzynski's guard.
Jarzynski looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jarzynski wants to get back to his feet but Uraev is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Uraev scoring with some ground and pound.
Uraev wants to control from the top but Jarzynski keeps moving.
Jarzynski controls Uraev momentarily but Uraev frees himself.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jarzynski can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Uraev controls the pace.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Jarzynski is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Uraev drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Jarzynski is trying to get back to half guard.
Uraev staying calm.

Jarzynski gets back to half guard.
Uraev wants to free his trapped foot but Jarzynski is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Jarzynski is looking to control Uraev's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jarzynski avoid being mounted?
Uraev looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jarzynski with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jarzynski lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Jarzynski wants to control but Uraev is keeping busy.
Jarzynski tries to roll over but Uraev keeps him under control.
Jarzynski is trying to control but Uraev manages to pass to mount!
Uraev lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jarzynski hang on?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A nice elbow there by Uraev.
Jarzynski is bucking up trying to escape but Uraev cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Jarzynski gives up his back whilst trying to strike.
Uraev not allowing Jarzynski to control his hands.
Uraev lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Tomski Jarzynski has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Shamil Uraev is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
You can see the frustration on Jarzynski's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

And that's the end of the fight!
Shamil Uraev showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Uraev, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
