The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aleon clinches.
Loiola tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

The fight stays on the outside here - Loiola looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Aleon shoots in for a double leg but Loiola sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Aleon scores with a head kick. Loiola tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Aleon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Aleon wants to finish this one by submission but Loiola is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Aleon.
BOOM! Aleon connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Aleon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Loiola throws a leg kick which misses Aleon's front leg but catches the back leg as Aleon tries to avoid it.
Aleon clinches up against the cage.
Loiola wants to get back to striking at distance but Aleon won't allow it.
Loiola is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Aleon is defending well for now.

Aleon manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
