PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Under Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desean Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has chosen Nightmare as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Desean Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dog manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Dog looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Dog drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick Dog off! Dog jumps back into Jackson's guard.
Jackson looking for a sweep. Not yet Jackson, not yet.

Jackson wants to sweep but no luck.
Jackson is trying to keep Dog in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Under Dog.

Dog has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jackson uses from the top position.

That was a close round but I would say that Under Dog will probably get the nod.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Dog has his feet on Jackson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Dog sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Jackson thows a huge punch but Dog dodges it nicely.
Jackson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dog with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jackson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dog is just riding it out for now. Jackson eventually gives up the hold.

Jackson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dog wants to get back to his feet.
Dog tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Jackson has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Jackson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Dog is wriggling around trying to escape.
Dog wants to try and get back to his feet.

Jackson stands up from mount. Strange move.

Dog gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jackson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Jackson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dog's head.

Dog avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jackson stands up over Dog, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jackson connects with a couple of short punches.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jackson stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Dog loads up on a big right hand but Jackson slips the punch.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dog paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Jackson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jackson showed some decent athleticism there.
Dog tries to roll over but Jackson keeps him under control.

Jackson is working for a kimura here but Dog manages to reverse the position and he's now in Jackson's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dog is in close to Jackson's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jackson is striking off his back. Dog thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Desean Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Under Dog.
I think Dog has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
