Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Daniel Dos Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, New Tall Guy!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dos Santos lands a glancing blow to the side of Guy's head.
Guy doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Guy forces Dos Santos back against the cage and clinches.
Guy goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dos Santos prevents it.
Guy is trying to pull guard but Dos Santos turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Guy works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Guy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dos Santos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Guy throwing strikes from guard but Dos Santos blocks nicely.
Guy throws a big elbow that misses.
Guy controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Guy postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Guy stands and throws Dos Santos's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Guy controlling from side mount.
Guy lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Dos Santos down.
Guy has an Americana. Dos Santos didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Guy is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Guy hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). New Tall Guy!
