Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ed Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Silva's choice of entrance music: Silva. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Reed. Reed circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wanderlei Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva throws a series of punches but Reed avoids them all with ease. Silva tries to clinch up but Reed circles away and keeps his distance. Silva wants to clinch. Reed drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Reed tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Reed working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Reed thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Reed advances nicely into full mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reed is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Silva has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Reed looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Reed wants to finish this one by submission but Silva is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Reed. Reed is breathing heavily. Silva tries to get back to half guard but can't. Silva defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Reed. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reed swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Silva is now in Reed's guard. A big mistake from Reed there, giving up the dominant position! Silva gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. A combination from Silva does no damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva is looking to clinch but Reed is avoiding it.
Reed tests Silva's chin there with a solid looking shot. Silva throws a nice looking combination but Reed bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Reed throws a body kick that misses. Reed clinches with his opponent.
Reed wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Silva has him pressed against the cage. Reed wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Reed landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Reed escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

It looks like Ed Reed has been cut. Reed taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

A head punch blocked on the inside by Silva. Silva keeps control of Reed as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Reed wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Reed tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Reed tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Silva just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ed Reed. That's going to take a lot out of him. Silva prevents the takedown attempt.

A short right from Reed on the inside. Reed pulls Silva into guard.
Reed had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Silva is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Reed Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Silva's back instead. Reed has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Silva is defending well but eventually Reed manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Silva has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
