PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charles Booth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Deldiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Booth comes to the cage accompanied by Living Colour- Cult of personality. Deldiago has chosen The Game - It's Okay (One Blood) ft. Junior Reid as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Oscar Deldiago has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Charles Booth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Oscar Deldiago!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Booth clinches with his opponent.
Deldiago is trying to break the clinch but Booth is controlling him.
Deldiago has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Booth avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Deldiago is trying to pull guard but Booth turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Booth takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Booth gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
A nice left hand lands by Booth.


It looks like Oscar Deldiago has been cut.

Deldiago breaks the clinch.
Deldiago looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Booth forces Deldiago back against the cage and clinches.
Booth is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Booth scores with a hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Booth scores with a nice hook to the head.
Deldiago tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Booth just stands there and leans against the cage.
Charles Booth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oscar Deldiago.

Booth has picked Deldiago up - he's going for a ride! Booth dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Booth is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Booth throwing shots but Deldiago is blocking nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Booth is just content to waste time from the top position. Deldiago takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Booth throws a big right hand that misses.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Booth accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Booth's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Booth throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Booth working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Booth pushing down on Deldiago's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Booth not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Booth perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Deldiago is not content to let Booth control the position.
Booth lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Booth controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Deldiago keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Booth is nestled in close to Deldiago, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Deldiago on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Booth wants to control but Deldiago is keeping him busy.
Booth lands with a punch from half guard.
Booth uses his free foot to push down on Deldiago's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Deldiago.
Booth raining down shots from the mount!
Deldiago looks gassed!
The referee warns Deldiago that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Deldiago takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Booth landing punches.


Deldiago is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Deldiago tries to lock up and control but Booth gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Deldiago is still in real trouble! Can Booth finish him?
Booth scores with a couple of good head shots there.


The cut above Oscar Deldiago's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Deldiago takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Booth's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charles Booth!
Our winner, Charles Booth, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
