Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Garrick Ballantyne!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruent looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ballantyne keeps the fight on the outside.
Ballantyne scores with a sloppy right hand. Ruent should have avoided that one.
Ruent jabs at Ballantyne's body.
Ballantyne moves forwards but Ruent connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Ballantyne on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Ruent looks to throw the jab but Ballantyne is out of range.
Ruent punishes Ballantyne's body with a nice straight punch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ruent has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ruent there as he acknowledges the shot.
Ballantyne takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Ballantyne ducks under a wild hook from Ruent.
Nice uppercut there from Ruent.
Ballantyne scores with a jab. Ruent acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Ballantyne takes a kick to the side of the head.
Ballantyne scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Ruent swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ballantyne.
Ruent misses with a left hand
and Ballantyne counters with a head kick.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ballantyne lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ruent has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ruent and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Ruent drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Ballantyne lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Garrick Ballantyne is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Ballantyne avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ruent throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ballantyne counters with a nice body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ruent has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ballantyne.
Ballantyne chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ruent can pounce on him.
Ruent misses with a right hand
and Ballantyne connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Ruent misses with a low kick.
Ruent throws an off balance right hand
and Ballantyne counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Oh Ruent is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ruent misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ballantyne.
Ruent looks to land a right hand but Ballantyne moved out of range.
Ballantyne feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ruent's calf.
A big left from Ruent misses.
Ballantyne cracks Ruent with a left hook right on the temple and Ruent goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Ballantyne lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Ruent is OK!

After the fight, Garrick Ballantyne was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
