Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Oli McKinnon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santiago Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Oli McKinnon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Santiago Alvarez! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKinnon is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Alvarez shoots in and drives through. McKinnon sprawls well. McKinnon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Alvarez. McKinnon tries to clinch but Alvarez is having none of it. McKinnon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Alvarez. Alvarez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Oli McKinnon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Santiago Alvarez. McKinnon's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and McKinnon duly obliges.
It looks like Santiago Alvarez has been cut. Alvarez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. McKinnon tries for a takedown but Alvarez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. McKinnon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McKinnon wants it to stay on the feet. Horrible takedown by Alvarez or perhaps it was just good defense by McKinnon which made him look bad. Alvarez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Alvarez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. McKinnon is desperately trying to improve his position but Alvarez has a good base and remains in mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alvarez is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Alvarez extends the arm and McKinnon is forced to tap!
