Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reinhold Messner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bakung Monk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bakung Monk!
The judges for this bout are Roosa J�rvil�inen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnem�ki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monk shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Messner as he jumps to the side.
Messner tries to clinch up but Monk circles away and keeps his distance.
Monk looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Monk tries to clinch but Messner moves out of range.
Messner misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Messner looks for a takedown but Monk sprawls well.
Messner closes this distance looking for a takedown but Monk circles away.
Messner tries to clinch up
and Monk counters with a series of strikes. Messner will be more careful next time no doubt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Monk looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Messner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Monk as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Reinhold Messner. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Messner wants to clinch

and Monk holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Monk manages to break the clinch.
Messner tries to clinch there but Monk circles away.
Messner looks to clinch
and Monk counters with a good, hard body kick but Messner shrugs it off.
Reinhold Messner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Messner circles away from the clinch attempt.
Monk fails with a takedown attempt.
Messner tries to clinch
and Monk cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Monk shoots in for a takedown but Messner shows good takedown defense.
Messner closes the distance looking to clinch

and Monk counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Messner!


Messner is rocked!

Monk stands up from half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Monk fails with a takedown attempt.
Messner throws a body kick the misses
and Monk counters with a solid body kick.
Messner is breathing heavily.
Monk lands a jab-cross combination.
Messner clinches but Monk breaks the clinch

and Monk counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Messner!
Oh Messner is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Monk seems to be working for a kimura but Messner defends the submission attempt.
Messner blocking the ground and pound attempt from Monk.
Messner seems to have got his legs back now.
Messner on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Messner tries to get out of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Monk passes to full mount!
Messner is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Monk has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Monk trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Monk looking to control and managing it successfully.
Let's hope that Monk has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Monk with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Messner tries to lock up and control but Monk gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Monk looking to control but Messner is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Monk avoids the attempt from Messner to control.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Bakung Monk dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Messner closes the distance but Monk moves to the side
and Monk counters with a head kick. That will keep Messner thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Messner fails to land the takedown.
Monk wants to clinch.
Bakung Monk seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Messner thows a leg kick but Monk checks it
and Monk counters with a big head kick but Messner shrugs it off.
Monk falls off balance throwing a combination
and Messner counters with a stiff right hand.
Messner tries to close the distance and clinch but Monk swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Monk clinches with his opponent.
Messner is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Monk breaks from the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Messner fails with a takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Monk pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Messner tries to clinch up
and Monk counters with a flying knee that drops Messner! Monk dives in and finishes the fight with a flurry of strikes from the mount!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bakung Monk!
