PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rab Rehab (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eaton Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rehab comes to the cage accompanied by saturday nights alright for fighting. Cox has chosen Hatebreed - Destroy Everything as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Rab Rehab!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eaton Cox!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Cox.
Rehab throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Cox loads up on a big right hand but Rehab slips the punch.
Rehab throws a leg kick but Cox moved away.

Rehab closes the distance and clinches.
A nice right hand lands inside from Rehab.
A short uppercut from Cox.
Cox lands a shot to the body.
Rehab tries to work over Cox's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Rehab scores with a shot to the side of Cox's head.
Cox controlling the action here for a moment.
Rehab misses with a short punch on the inside.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Rehab has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Rehab gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rehab throwing strikes but missing.
Rehab trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Rehab drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cox dives on top into guard.

Rehab is looking for a triangle but Cox pushes his legs off easily.

Rehab looking for a guillotine here but Cox defends easily.
Rehab wants to improve his position but instead Cox has moved into half guard.
Rehab wants to get back to full guard.

Cox is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rehab tries to get to full guard but Cox has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cox lands a nice short elbow.
Rehab trying to control here.

Rehab looking for submissions off his back.

Cox is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rehab defends it well.

Rehab actively working from the bottom here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cox is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rehab has managed to free his arm - good work.
Rehab tries to get to full guard but Cox has control of the leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cox is trying to control the action in half guard but Rehab is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Cox looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rehab with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Cox wants to take a breather but Rehab is having none of it.
Cox is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Rehab is looking to improve his position.
Cox wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rehab keeps working.

Rehab looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rehab wants to improve his position but Cox is controlling well.
Rehab regains full guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rehab uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Cox scores with a kick to the midsection.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rehab cracks Cox with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Cox throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Rehab counters with a two punch combo.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cox is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rehab.
Cox stuffs the takedown attempt from Rehab. Rehab gets slowly back to his feet.
Cox loads up on a big right hand but Rehab slips the punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rab Rehab dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Cox throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Cox lands with a straight right. Rehab didn't see that one coming.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rehab, as that shot connected.
Cox throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nice defenses there by Cox.
Rehab throws a hook but Cox avoids it easily.

A punch lands to the side of Rehab 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Eaton Cox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rehab takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Rehab swings widly with a right hand
and Cox counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cox throws a head kick that misses.

Rehab moves out of range as Cox throws a body kick.
Cox looks to land a right hand but Rehab moved out of range.
Cox wants to clinch
and Rehab counters with a nice uppercut.
Cox scores with a push kick.
Rehab shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cox defends it nicely.
Jab, jab by Cox - just one landing.


Rehab is rocked!
Crack! A monster head kick from Cox and Rehab falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Cox!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Eaton Cox!
During a confident post fight interview, Eaton Cox thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
