PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adriano Cabral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Stoker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Albert Stoker!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stoker lands a slapping body shot.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Stoker.
Cabral tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Stoker manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Stoker forces Cabral back against the cage and clinches.
Cabral is looking to control Stoker's arms but Stoker gets an underhook and turns him. Now Cabral has his back to the cage.

Cabral dives in and grabs Stoker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Stoker pushes down on Cabral's head and hops out.

Stoker has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Cabral regains guard immediately.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Stoker stays in close to Cabral's body and controls the position.

Cabral is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stoker defends well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stoker is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cabral doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Stoker.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stoker winds up and cracks Cabral with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stoker fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cabral looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Albert Stoker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Cabral has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stoker is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well Stoker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
