Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Heath McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daryl Escarpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daryl Escarpe!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKenzie misses with a two punch combination.

Escarpe darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Escarpe trying to control the action but McKenzie is working from the bottom.

Escarpe drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Escarpe is in close to McKenzie's body, working some short punches and elbows.
McKenzie throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
McKenzie keeping moving, preventing Escarpe from controlling successfully.

Escarpe working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
McKenzie trying to keep a closed guard but Escarpe is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Daryl Escarpe was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Escarpe shoots in and drives through. McKenzie sprawls well.

Escarpe shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McKenzie defends it nicely.
Heath McKenzie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daryl Escarpe.

Escarpe gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McKenzie to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Escarpe takes a head kick and keeps coming.

McKenzie forces Escarpe back against the cage and clinches.

McKenzie pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Escarpe fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A combination from McKenzie does no damage.
McKenzie throws a front kick that sends Escarpe stumbling back into the cage.
Escarpe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McKenzie swivels and escapes.

McKenzie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
McKenzie working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Escarpe is breathing heavily.

McKenzie slips a nice elbow through Escarpe's hands, connecting with Escarpe's forehead.
Escarpe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Escarpe tries to regain full guard. Instead though, McKenzie has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Escarpe is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

McKenzie is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Escarpe is surviving well by controlling McKenzie's body position as best he can.

Escarpe might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McKenzie kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
McKenzie lands a big elbow.
McKenzie tries to control but Escarpe wriggling away.
McKenzie tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

McKenzie has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Escarpe's face.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McKenzie cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
McKenzie lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
