The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirby moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Kirby circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kirby attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
A punch lands to the side of Deep 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Kirby throws out a leg kick but Deep moves out of range and Kirby only half commits.
Deep keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Deep cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Deep.
Kirby fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Kirby throws out a loose jab but Deep uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kirby fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Deep manages to avoid it.
Deep tries for a takedown but Kirby circles away easily
enabling Kirby to counter with a crisp jab.

Kirby connects with a right hand. Deep shakes it off.

Deep avoids the body shot from Kirby.
Deep moves out of range of the strikes.
Kirby throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kirby lands with a straight right. Deep didn't see that one coming.
Deep takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

and Kirby counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Kirby dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Kirby takes a swing at Deep's ribcage but misses.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kirby lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Deep has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Deep and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Kirby scores with a jab. Deep acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

John Kirby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Deep.

Deep throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kirby's waist but Kirby gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Deep off to one side.

and Deep counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Deep wants to free his trapped foot but Kirby is holding on for dear life with his legs.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Deep seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kirby does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kirby kicks off Deep and gets to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kirby throws a hook but Deep avoids it easily.

Deep slips under a jab.
Deep closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kirby on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kirby tries to get out of the position.
Deep is trying to get an arm triangle but Kirby is defending well.

Deep wants to control but Kirby is keeping him busy.
Kirby is looking for a sweep.

Deep looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Deep has an Americana. Kirby didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Deep is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Deep hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
