Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andre Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Will Watson!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wells shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Wells tries to pass the half guard into mount. Watson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Wells prevents Watson from standing back up.
Watson is trying to maintain the position but Wells is very close to passing his half guard.
Wells trying to pass the guard but Watson defending well.

Wells seems to be working for a kimura but Watson defends the submission attempt.
Wells throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Watson is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.

Wells fails to take his opponent's back.

Wells has control of Watson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Watson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Watson is working to get back to half guard.
Wells throwing strikes here but Watson is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Watson is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wells looking for a guillotine from mount but Watson is having none of it.
Watson wants to control but Wells is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Watson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Watson tries to hold on but Wells pushes him away.
Watson is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Wells trying to control but Watson is having none of it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Wells is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Watson has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Watson!
Wells is breathing heavily.

Wells has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Watson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Watson gets to his feet - Wells follows without any prompting.
Wells fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Watson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Watson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wells's head.
Watson is trying to control the action in half guard but Wells is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Watson is taking a breather. Wells says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Watson is looking for a kimura but Wells is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Watson to get the leverage.

Wells slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Watson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Watson wants to control from the top but Wells keeps moving.
Watson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Watson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wells knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Watson wants to control but Wells is keeping him busy.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Will Watson dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Watson gets the takedown into side control.
Sloppy strikes there by Watson.
Watson trying to control the action but Wells is working from the bottom.
Watson throws an elbow but Wells slips to the side and avoids it well.
Watson is looking to take a break and control but Wells is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Watson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wells keeps working.
Watson just content to control the position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Will Watson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wells moves out of range of the body kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Wells drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Watson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wells's guard.
Watson with a flurry of punches that miss.
Watson trying to control the position from guard on top but Wells is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Watson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Wells controls Watson momentarily but Watson frees himself.
Wells manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Watson manages to get himself to full guard.
Wells postures up.
Watson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Wells kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Wells drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wells jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Wells is fighting to break Watson's control of his arms but Watson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Watson looking for a sweep. Not yet Watson, not yet.
Watson keeping moving, preventing Wells from controlling successfully.
Wells being controlled here momentarily.

Wells thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Wells shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Wells trying to control the action but Watson is working from the bottom.

Watson is defending against the submission attempts here by Wells.

Wells wants to free his trapped foot but Watson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Wells is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Watson!

Wells working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Watson looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Wells! Submission of the night perhaps?
