Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Javier Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Ridgeon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hernandez comes to the cage accompanied by Danza kuduro. Dave Ridgeon told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Javier Hernandez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Ridgeon! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hernandez tries to clinch but Ridgeon moves away and Ridgeon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Ridgeon throws a strike but Hernandez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hernandez looking to sit in guard and control but Ridgeon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Ridgeon looking to pass the guard. Ridgeon cracks Hernandez with a solid left hand. Hernandez is trying to keep Ridgeon in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hernandez keeping moving, preventing Ridgeon from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hernandez can't keep his opponent in guard - Ridgeon advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Ridgeon stops Hernandez from getting back to his feet.
Hernandez kicks off Ridgeon and gets to his feet. Hernandez closes the distance and clinches up with Ridgeon, looking for a takedown. Hernandez pushes Ridgeon against the cage but Ridgeon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ridgeon checks the leg kick. Ridgeon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ridgeon wants it to stay on the feet. Ridgeon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hernandez throws a shot from downtown. Ridgeon moves away and avoids it. Hernandez tries to clinch but Ridgeon is having none of it. Hernandez slips a straight right by Ridgeon.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ridgeon tries to clinch up but Hernandez circles away and keeps his distance. Ridgeon doesn't manage to clinch there - Hernandez circles away.
Hernandez has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hernandez gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Ridgeon is controlling Hernandez's posture. Hernandez is looking to stand up but Ridgeon won't let him. Ridgeon has his foot on Hernandez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hernandez works his way back into a safe position though. Hernandez trying to control the position from guard on top but Ridgeon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ridgeon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hernandez tries to stand but Ridgeon is controlling from the bottom. Hernandez has gone for a leg lock! Ridgeon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hernandez's guard. Ridgeon landing some decent shots from guard. Hernandez is looking for a triangle but Ridgeon pushes his legs off easily.
Hernandez wants to sweep but no luck. Hernandez is working hard here to advance position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ridgeon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ridgeon chips away with some ground and pound. Hernandez wants to sweep here but Ridgeon controlling him for the moment. Ridgeon with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Ridgeon stands up over Hernandez, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Hernandez throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Ridgeon lands a couple of decent looking shots. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hernandez is trying to hold Ridgeon in close to prevent damage but Ridgeon has managed to pass into half guard.
Ridgeon is trying to work for a kimura but Hernandez is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Ridgeon dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Hernandez with a poor takedown and Ridgeon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hernandez's guard. Hernandez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ridgeon lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ridgeon's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Ridgeon with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Hernandez wants to sweep here but Ridgeon controlling him for the moment. Hernandez controlling Ridgeon's posture. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ridgeon chips away with some ground and pound. Ridgeon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hernandez is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ridgeonis looking to pass into half guard but Hernandez pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Hernandez is in guard. Hernandez won't allow Ridgeon to get back to his feet. Ridgeon keeping moving, preventing Hernandez from controlling successfully. Hernandez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ridgeon dives on top into guard. Ridgeon cracks Hernandez with a solid left hand. Ridgeon chips away with some ground and pound. Hernandez wants to sweep but no luck. Ridgeon wants to control from the top but Hernandez keeps moving. Hernandez working for submissions but it's allowed Ridgeon to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hernandez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ridgeon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ridgeon's back! Hernandez patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? This has been an exciting period of action! Ridgeon is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Ridgeon is trying to stand back up. Dave Ridgeon has got the better of the ground game so far. Hernandez is not going to allow Ridgeon to sit and survive in this position. Hernandez looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Ridgeon is controlling Hernandez 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard. Ridgeon is in close to Hernandez's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ridgeon wants to control from the top but Hernandez keeps moving. Hernandez trying to keep a closed guard but Ridgeon is proving a slippery customer.
Hernandez wants to sweep here but Ridgeon controlling him for the moment. Hernandez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hernandez trying to control from half guard but Ridgeon is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ridgeon is looking to improve his position.

Hernandez wants to work for an arm triangle but Ridgeon is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ridgeon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hernandez is working away from the top position though. Ridgeon works his way to full guard. Good work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ridgeon tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hernandez drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ridgeon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ridgeon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ridgeon! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Ridgeon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Ridgeon slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Hernandez is looking to reverse the position. Hernandez can't do much from the bottom here. Ridgeon working the head and body with strikes. Hernandez tries to improve position but can't. Hernandez is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Hernandez is rocked! Ridgeon content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Oh Hernandez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Ridgeon in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Hernandez looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Ridgeon turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dave Ridgeon! Dave Ridgeon really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Shot in the Arm Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
