Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crixus Pais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Till I Collapse. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Crixus Pais! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pais closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Pais happy to just control the position for now. Pais sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Gracie is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Pais's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Pais should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Crixus Pais has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Gracie walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Pais checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Pais scores with a nice head shot. Pais wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Pais looks for a takedown but Gracie sprawls well. Pais shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gracie pinned against the cage. Gracie gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pais scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Gracie thows a body shot but no joy. A jab from Pais misses. Pais lands a jab to the head.
It looks like Rodrigo Gracie has been cut. Gracie slips under a jab from Pais. Gracie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Pais to score with a decent uppercut. Pais looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie keeping moving, preventing Pais from controlling successfully. Pais's corner is telling him to maintain position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Crixus Pais. Pais connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gracie momentarily.
Pais shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gracie defends it nicely. Rodrigo Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Crixus Pais.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pais catches Gracie napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Gracie to the canvas!
Gracie is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pais trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Pais postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Crixus Pais dominated that round. The cut man is working on Rodrigo Gracie's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pais to the mat! Pais manages to get full guard. Gracie tries to free his leg and advance position but Pais is retaining full guard. Pais has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Gracie avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gracie wants to control from the top but Pais keeps moving. Gracie looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Pais trying to control the position.

Pais keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Gracie pushing down on Pais's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Pais is trying to maintain the position but Gracie is very close to passing his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie moves nicely into side control. Crixus Pais has got the better of the ground game so far. Pais tries to buck Gracie off but Gracie is having none of it. Pais sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Pais manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Gracie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pais manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracie has Pais in his guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pais engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pais trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Gracie working a defensive guard here.
Pais content to stall in guard here. Pais throws a big right hand that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pais misses with a takedown attempt - Gracie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Gracie shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pais manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Gracie passes into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pais actively working from the bottom here. Pais tries to get to full guard but Gracie has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Crixus Pais will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Rodrigo Gracie's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
A jab from Pais misses. Crixus Pais is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Pais throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gracie tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pais is in Gracie's guard. Pais trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pais defends it easily. Pais slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pais trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Crixus Pais. Pais connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Pais shoots in looking for a takedown but Gracie manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pais's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Gracie takes one on the button. Gracie looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Pais is concentrating on defense, preventing Gracie from advancing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pais has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gracie is working away from the top position though. Gracie trying to pass the guard but Pais defending well. Gracie uses his free foot to push down on Pais's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pais. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pais really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pais stops Gracie from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Pais regains half guard. Pais makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pais. Pais wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pais controls Gracie momentarily but Gracie frees himself. Rodrigo Gracie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Crixus Pais. Gracie drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pais pulls Gracie in close to his closed guard and prevents Gracie from doing any damage or advancing position. Pais manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gracie manages to get himself to full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Crixus Pais comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Pais has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
