Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scott Fleming (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sheldon Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fleming kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is T.N.T.. Maia is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bleed It Out. Sheldon Maia has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Nice uppercut lands for Fleming. That snapped Maia's head back.
Maia misses with a takedown attempt - Fleming sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Fleming scores with a leg kick.
A punch lands to the side of Fleming 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Fleming uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Maia.
Maia checks a low kick from Fleming.
Fleming throws a sloppy head kick and Maia moves out of range easily.
Fleming keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Maia throws a right and a left that Fleming avoids nicely.
Fleming moves into the clinch.
Maia tries to circle away but Fleming has him pinned against the cage.
Fleming escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Maia throws an overhand right that lands on Fleming's shoulder, as Fleming tries to avoid the shot.
Maia misses with an uppercut. Fleming saw that one coming.
Fleming on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
It looks like Scott Fleming has been cut.

Fleming shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fleming was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fleming lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Maia tries to hold on but Fleming pushes him away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maia has hold of Fleming's hands but Fleming slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Fleming throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Fleming looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Fleming passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Maia!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like Sheldon Maia has been cut.
Fleming goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Maia turns into him and now he's in Fleming's guard.
Fleming wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Fleming has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Maia loads up on a big right hand but Fleming slips the punch.

Fleming bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Maia's head backwards.

Fleming shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Fleming feints and then cracks Maia's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Maia down.

Maia has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Fleming.
Fleming throws a quick inside leg kick.
Fleming fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Fleming throws a leg kick which misses Maia's front leg but catches the back leg as Maia tries to avoid it.
Fleming dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Maia. That did some damage!

Maia pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Fleming thuds his shin into the meat of Maia's side.

Maia's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Fleming drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Maia takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Scott Fleming overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well, if Fleming is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Fleming is keen to just control but Maia is a slippery customer.
