Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Celinor Anders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Eddie Gonzalez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Celinor Anders!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Ackerman and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anders closes the distance and clinches up with Gonzalez, looking for a takedown. Anders pushes Gonzalez against the cage but Gonzalez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Anders lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Anders chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gonzalez can pounce on him.
Anders fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Anders has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Gonzalez.
Anders fails to land the takedown.

Gonzalez scores a takedown into full mount!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Anders is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Gonzalez sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Anders is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Gonzalez controlling the position easily from mount.
Gonzalez can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Anders is looking to escape.
Gonzalez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Gonzalez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Eddie Gonzalez just wasn't active enough.

Gonzalez shoots in and gets a takedown into Anders's guard.
Anders wants to stand and escape but Gonzalez is having none of it.
Gonzalez's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Gonzalez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Anders's guard.
Gonzalez tries to free his leg and advance position but Anders is retaining full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Both fighters circling a little - Gonzalez finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

It looks like Celinor Anders has been cut.
Gonzalez fails with an attempt to clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Anders walks into a jab.


Anders is rocked!

Gonzalez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Anders is still in real trouble! Can Gonzalez finish him?
Gonzalez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Gonzalez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anders swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gonzalez scores with the left hand. Anders knows he should have avoided that one.
Anders seems to have recovered his senses.
Anders is looking to clinch but Gonzalez is avoiding it.
Gonzalez scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Anders doesn't seem bothered though.
Anders slaps away a takedown attempt from Gonzalez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gonzalez.
Anders shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gonzalez pinned against the cage. Gonzalez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gonzalez fakes the leg kick and cracks Anders in the body.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Anders crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Gonzalez - the referee stops the clock and Anders gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Gonzalez. Anders manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Anders is breathing heavily.
Gonzalez thows a body kick. Anders tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Gonzalez throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Anders.
Gonzalez plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Anders swats away the attempt to clinch by Gonzalez.
Gonzalez misses with a double jab.
A chopping leg kick lands by Gonzalez.
Gonzalez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gonzalez shoots for a double leg takedown but Anders sprawls well. He's pushed Gonzalez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Gonzalez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gonzalez scores with a one two! Anders had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Anders shoots in but Gonzalez avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Anders wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Anders tries to escape but Gonzalez is in control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gonzalez is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Anders will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

We're going to have a standup here because Eddie Gonzalez wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Anders takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


That has opened up Celinor Anders's cut even more.

Gonzalez dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Anders takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Anders should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Gonzalez scores with a hook to the body. Anders takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Anders gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gonzalez is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anders can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Anders takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Anders dives in and grabs Gonzalez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gonzalez pushes down on Anders's head and hops out.
Anders takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Anders has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Gonzalez.

Oooh a lovely combination from Gonzalez sends Anders down but not out. Gonzalez dives into side control looking to finish.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gonzalez is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Anders's shoulder. That is not cool.
Gonzalez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Anders keeps working.
Gonzalez tries to move to mount but Anders blocks the move with his legs.
Gonzalez taking a break here but Anders is having none of it and regains half guard.
Anders takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Gonzalez controlling the pace.
Anders keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Gonzalez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Anders can do to turn this around?
Anders has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gonzalez is working away from the top position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Eddie Gonzalez.
Anders shoots for a takedown but Gonzalez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Anders fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gonzalez avoids it really well and circles away.
Eddie Gonzalez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Celinor Anders.
The fighters circle momentarily. Gonzalez darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Anders changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gonzalez tries to avoid it but Anders manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gonzalez to the ground. Gonzalez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A lazy left from Gonzalez finds it's target.


The cut above Celinor Anders's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Anders is trying to stand up here but Gonzalez is controlling him well.
Gonzalez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Anders keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Eddie Gonzalez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Gonzalez not doing much here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Eddie Gonzalez.

Gonzalez is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Gonzalez throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Gonzalez scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Gonzalez is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
