Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neymar Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Neymar Silva will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marcus Rush! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Neymar Silva! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rush looking to score a takedown here. Silva is defending well but Rush drives through and ends up in Silva's guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Rush wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position. Rush decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Silva, up you get! Rush decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Rush tries to pass to full mount but Silva defends it. Silva wants to control but Rush is keeping busy.
Silva is looking for a sweep. Rush is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Rush controlling the action here. Silva wants to improve his position but Rush is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rush is taking a breather. Silva says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We're going to have a standup here because Marcus Rush wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Silva shoots in but Rush avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rush has Silva up against the cage in a clinch.
Silva ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Silva no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Rush gets to his feet. Silva looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Rush darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Rush stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rush is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Silva sees it coming and defends easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rush is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Rush will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rush postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Silva to stand up. Rush really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rush darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Rush trying to mount his opponent but Silva defends it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva looks like he's trying to stand up.
Silva tries to roll over but Rush keeps him under control. Rush content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Rush is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Silva has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rush is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Silva works his way to full guard. Good work. Silva is trying to hold Rush in close to prevent damage but Rush has managed to pass into half guard.
Rush lands strikes from half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rush decides to stand and escape the position. Rush drives through and clinches with Silva against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Rush dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Rush gets a double leg takedown into Silva's guard. Rush decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Silva, up you get! Silva is looking to slow Rush down with leg kicks. Silva shoots in but Rush avoids the takedown attempt easily. Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Rush sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Rush keeps the fight on the outside. No joy there for Rush, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rush drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Silva not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rush controls from within his opponent's guard. Rush seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Silva for as long as he can get away with.
That's one minute gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Rush is working Silva over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Rush stands up from guard. Let's bang! Rush closes the distance and clinches. Rush gets a trip takedown into half guard. Rush prevents Silva from improving his position. Rush passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Silva! Rush controlling from the full mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva is in a horrible position here. Rush smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Rush raining down hammerfists from mount. Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rush. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rush sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Marcus Rush overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rush lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rush connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Silva tries to hold on but Rush postures up. Rush content just to control the position here. Rush breaks from Silva's wrist control and lands an elbow. Silva swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Silva has left one of his arms exposed and Rush doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Silva screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Marcus Rush!
