Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bredis Gretcott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wallace comes into a darkened arena with his song building. 50 Cent - Laughing Straight To The Bank kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bredis Gretcott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, James Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gretcott looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gretcott throws a combination that misses

and Wallace counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Wallace.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Wallace gets to his feet. Gretcott looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Wallace avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gretcott throws a left and a right that both miss

and Wallace counters with a shoot takedown. Gretcott fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wallace lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Wallace throws a strike but Gretcott rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Wallace has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gretcott off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Gretcott shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wallace pinned against the cage. Wallace gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Wallace avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Gretcott throws a combination that misses

and Wallace counters by clinching up.
Wallace with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Wallace keeps control of Gretcott as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Wallace is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gretcott can't fight it off and eventually Wallace manages to take the fight to the floor. Gretcott looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Wallace got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gretcott has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wallace has managed to get both his arms back between Gretcott's legs - danger averted.

Wallace drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gretcott looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gretcott looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gretcott!
Wallace manages to get back to half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wallace is controlling Gretcott's trapped leg to prevent Gretcott from advancing to side control.

Gretcott is trying to work for a kimura but Wallace is defending well.
Gretcott is trying to control. Wallace wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Wallace regains full guard. Nicely done.
Wallace wants to stand and escape but Gretcott is having none of it.
Gretcott throws a strike but Wallace rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Wallace is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

James Wallace dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Gretcott misses with a jab, cross combination.
Wallace looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Wallace counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Wallace stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gretcott swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gretcott is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wallace is aware though and is defending well.
Wallace content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wallace postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Wallace is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Wallace is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gretcott is on top in guard.
Wallace is looking to stand up but Gretcott isn't so interested in that idea.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gretcott is trying to buck Wallace off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wallace lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Gretcott down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wallace connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Gretcott some visible discomfort.
Gretcott takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Wallace cracks Gretcott with a big right hand but Gretcott just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gretcott takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Wallace takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The referee warns Gretcott that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Oh Gretcott is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
BOOM! Wallace connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Wallace has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Wallace lands a big shot to the head and Gretcott winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
