Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Razor Ramone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramone has chosen Loco Chico by Ill Nino as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anthony Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Razor Ramone!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Griffin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ramone, pushing him back against the cage.
Griffin lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ramone backwards.

Griffin has hold of one of Ramone's legs. Ramone is fighting the takedown attempt but Griffin gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Griffin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Griffin postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Ramone has momentary wrist control but Griffin slips an elbow through the middle.


It looks like Razor Ramone has been cut.
Griffin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Griffin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ramone circles away quickly and effectively.

and Ramone counters with a three punch combo that has Griffin backing up. Griffin nods at Ramone to acknowledge the strikes.
Griffin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ramone circles away.

Ramone throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Griffin.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ramone as he jumps to the side.

Ramone lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Griffin takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Ramone catches Griffin with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Ramone dips to his left and cracks Griffin with an uppercut!
Ramone lands with a slapping head kick.
Griffin walks forward, straight into a front kick from Ramone.
Griffin on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Ramone moves into range and connects with a jab.
Razor Ramone is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Griffin drops his hands momentarily and Ramone takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Anthony Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ramone slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ramone sprawls well. Ramone wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Griffin gets slowly back to his feet.

Ramone is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Griffin had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Ramone fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Griffin.

Ramone stuns Griffin with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ramone scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Ramone lands with a good body shot.
A left and a right from Ramone both land. Nice combination.
A lazy left from Ramone finds it's target.
Ramone fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Griffin looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Griffin takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Nice shot lands for Ramone.
Griffin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ramone tries to avoid it but Griffin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ramone to the ground. Ramone escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Griffin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ramone is fending him off so far but Griffin persists. Nope, Ramone circles away and we're back to standing.
Ramone lands a nice hook to Griffin's body. Griffin takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Ramone throws out a powerful jab.

Griffin tries to clinch up.
Griffin fails to land with a series of punches.
Ramone lands with a nice body punch.
Ramone scores with a body shot.
Ramone lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ramone lands a jab-cross combination.
Griffin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Griffin throws a lazy head kick
and Ramone counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Ramone lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Donk. Ramone catches Griffin right on the button with a cross.
Griffin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Razor Ramone dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Griffin feints and as Ramone raises his hands in defense, Griffin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Griffin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ramone is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Griffin defends well.
Griffin stands up over Ramone, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Griffin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ramone has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Griffin has managed to get both his arms back between Ramone's legs - danger averted.
Ramone is trying to control the position but Griffin postures up.

Griffin throws a big elbow that misses.
Griffin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Ramone has his foot on Griffin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Griffin works his way back into a safe position though.

Griffin stands up over Ramone, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Griffin is working Ramone over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Griffin's corner. There ya go! There ya go!


Ramone is rocked!
Griffin postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Ramone covers up, he's hurt! Griffin keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Griffin and the ref steps in to end the fight! Griffin can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anthony Griffin!
Anthony Griffin was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
