6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Zamorano! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Reed Andrews and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zamorano throws a right and a left that both miss. Nestle shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Zamorano as he avoids it easily. Nice sprawl there from Zamorano as Nestle shoots in. Nestle misses with a takedown and Zamorano counters with a stiff right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Nestle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zamorano takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Zamorano misses with a right hand and Nestle decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Zamorano's guard. Nestle got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zamorano has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nestle has managed to get both his arms back between Zamorano's legs - danger averted. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nestle wants to stand but Zamorano has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Nestle wants to control from the top but Zamorano keeps moving. Nestle tries to free his leg and advance position but Zamorano is retaining full guard. Nestle stopping the sweep attempt from Zamorano.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zamorano looking to control.
Zamorano working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nestle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nestle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Zamorano keeping moving, preventing Nestle from controlling successfully. Nestle looking to pass the guard. Nestle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Zamorano keeping moving, preventing Nestle from controlling successfully. Nestle thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Nestle is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Zamorano is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nestle distracts Zamorano with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Zamorano looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Nestle sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Zamorano's guard. Nestle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zamorano keeps working. Nestle is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Zamorano sees it coming and defends easily. Nestle prevents Zamorano from improving his position. Nestle trying to control the action but Zamorano is working from the bottom. Zamorano trying to get back to full guard but Nestle takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nestle jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Zamorano manages to avoid the submission attempt. Nestle scores with punches from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zamorano is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Nestle's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Nestle throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Zamorano is looking for a sweep. Nestle is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Zamorano is doing well to control the position and prevent Nestle from advancing to side control. Zamorano wants to control but Nestle passes into side.
Zamorano tries to get back to half guard but can't. Nestle trying to control the action but Zamorano is working from the bottom. Zamorano can't do much from the bottom here. Nestle trying to control the position but Zamorano is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nestle has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Nestle throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nice takedown defense from Zamorano. No joy for Nestle on that attempt. Nestle doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Zamorano counter with a right hand.
Nestle is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Zamorano works Nestle's body with a nice hook. Joe Nestle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nestle is breathing heavily. Zamorano has closed the distance and engaged Nestle in a clinch.

Nestle moves away from the strike by Zamorano. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Nestle with a lazy takedown attempt and Zamorano scores with a counter punch that sends Nestle to the canvas! Zamorano smells blood - he's punishing Nestle with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Nestle has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Zamorano! During a confident post fight interview, Mike Zamorano thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
