Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daryl Escarpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarl Slivkoniv (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Escarpe has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jarl Slivkoniv! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slivkoniv is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Escarpe's half guard. Escarpe is breathing heavily. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Slivkoniv wants to take a breather but Escarpe is having none of it. Slivkoniv tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Escarpe. Escarpe is refusing to be controlled, as Slivkoniv sits in half guard. Slivkoniv tries to stand but can't do so whilst Escarpe controls his leg. Slivkoniv is trying to control the action in half guard but Escarpe is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jarl Slivkoniv. Slivkoniv manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Escarpe on his heels. He'll look to pass Escarpe's guard now, I'm sure. Slivkoniv must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Slivkoniv wants to get up but he can't break Escarpe's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Slivkoniv trying to control but Escarpe is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jarl Slivkoniv. A head kick misses from Slivkoniv. Slivkoniv rushes Escarpe and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Slivkoniv has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Escarpe uses from the top position. Slivkoniv escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Escarpe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Slivkoniv is adopting a defensive guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Escarpe won't allow Slivkoniv to get back to his feet. Slivkoniv seems keen to control Escarpe's posture. Slivkoniv trying to keep a closed guard but Escarpe is proving a slippery customer.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jarl Slivkoniv hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Slivkoniv is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Escarpe's half guard. Escarpe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Escarpe pushes Slivkoniv off looking to stand but Slivkoniv dives back in and keeps control.
Escarpe has hold of Slivkoniv's hands but Slivkoniv slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Escarpe is not content to let Slivkoniv control the position. Slivkoniv really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Escarpe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well, if Slivkoniv is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Jarl Slivkoniv hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Slivkoniv shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Escarpe manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Slivkoniv trying to control the position from guard on top but Escarpe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jarl Slivkoniv dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Slivkoniv scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Slivkoniv is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Escarpe knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Slivkoniv thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Escarpe could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Slivkoniv wants to lay and pray for a moment but Escarpe keeps working. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slivkoniv connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Escarpe some visible discomfort.
Escarpe tries to improve position but can't. You can see the frustration on Escarpe's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Escarpe is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Slivkoniv tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Slivkoniv in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slivkoniv decides to stand up, so the ref orders Escarpe to his feet. A head kick misses from Slivkoniv. Slivkoniv throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Slivkoniv looking to score a takedown here. Escarpe is defending well but Slivkoniv drives through and ends up in Escarpe's guard. Slivkoniv stopping the sweep attempt from Escarpe. Slivkoniv is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slivkoniv drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Slivkoniv jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Escarpe has his foot on Slivkoniv's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Slivkoniv works his way back into a safe position though. Slivkoniv postures up and lands a big shot to Escarpe's brow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Slivkoniv wants to control from the top but Escarpe keeps moving. Slivkoniv is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Jarl Slivkoniv has got the better of the ground game so far. Slivkoniv tries to free his leg and advance position but Escarpe is retaining full guard. Slivkoniv trying to control the position from guard on top but Escarpe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jarl Slivkoniv wasn't active enough on the ground. Escarpe takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Slivkoniv closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Escarpe to the mat! Escarpe manages to get full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Slivkoniv chips away with some ground and pound. Escarpe keeping full guard, as Slivkoniv tries to pass. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jarl Slivkoniv showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Escarpe is not content to let Slivkoniv control the position. Slivkoniv might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Escarpe kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Slivkoniv is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Escarpe is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slivkoniv tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Slivkoniv working away. Slivkoniv tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Escarpe is not content to let Slivkoniv control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slivkoniv working away. Slivkoniv has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. A lull in the action here as Slivkoniv stalls from top position. Slivkoniv decides to take the fight back to the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slivkoniv feints and as Escarpe raises his hands in defense, Slivkoniv changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Slivkoniv wants to control from the top but Escarpe keeps moving. Escarpe is looking to stand up but Slivkoniv isn't so interested in that idea. Escarpe is trying to control the position but Slivkoniv postures up. Escarpe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Escarpe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Slivkoniv looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Escarpe wants to sweep here but Slivkoniv controlling him for the moment. Slivkoniv prevents Escarpe from getting back to his feet. Escarpe is trying to control the position but Slivkoniv postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Slivkoniv bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Slivkoniv scoring with punches from side control. Daryl Escarpe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jarl Slivkoniv is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Slivkoniv working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
And that's the end of the fight! Jarl Slivkoniv comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Slivkoniv has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
