Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Rooie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida comes to the cage accompanied by One Man Army. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Machida! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ron Rooie! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machida throws a jab when Rooie was well out of range. Machida throws the left hand but Rooie avoids the punch easily. Machida lands an overhand right. Machida lands a really nice looking cross but Rooie seems unphased.
Rooie misses with the combination.
Machida connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Rooie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Machida misses the jab. Rooie takes one to the chin there. Rooie drives through and clinches with Machida against the cage.
Machida is looking to take this one to the mat. Rooie keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Machida's efforts to push away. Rooie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rooie rushes Machida and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Machida is trying to push Rooie away but Rooie has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Rooie will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Machida up against the cage. Rooie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rooie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Machida's guard. Rooie is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Machida had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rooie defends it easily. Rooie wants to control from the top but Machida keeps moving. Machida wants to stand and escape but Rooie is having none of it. Rooie works a leg free and moves into half guard. Rooie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Machida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Machida avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rooie. Rooie looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Rooie missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Machida looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Rooie controlling the action here. Machida is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rooie pulls his head out easily. Rooie stands up and beckons Machida to join him on the feet. Joe Machida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Machida lands a really nice looking cross but Rooie seems unphased.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Machida lands with a hook. Rooie tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Nice cross by Machida. Rooie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rooie lands in his opponent's guard. Rooie is posturing up here but Machida has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Rooie tries to roll out but it's too tight and Rooie has to tap! Slick submission there by Machida!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Joe Machida! A relieved looking Joe Machida thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
