Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keith Sherls!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Jones!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails to land the takedown.
Jones avoids a punch combination nicely.

Jones forces Sherls back against the cage and clinches.
A body shot lands from Jones.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sherls misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jones slips a jab and a cross from Sherls.

Jones has closed the distance and engaged Sherls in a clinch.

Jones pulls Sherls into guard.
Jones throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sherls manages to get himself to full guard.
Sherls knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.
Sherls keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.

Jones stops Sherls from standing up.
Jones is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Jones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jones seems to be looking for submissions.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jones in particular looking to stall.
Jones tries to pass to full mount but Sherls defends it.
Jones seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Sherls pushes Jones off looking to stand but Jones dives back in and keeps control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Jones tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sherls knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jones throws a low kick, looking for Sherls's leg but Sherls calmly moves out of range.

and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Sherls is breathing heavily.
Jones trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Sherls manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Mike Jones dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It looks like Mike Jones has been cut.

Sherls wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jones is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jones has control of Sherls's left arm, preventing Sherls from doing any damage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sherls as he avoids it easily.

Sherls will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sherls throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones is looking to score with low kicks.

and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jones.
Sherls can't break the clinch.
Sherls has had enough of the clinch but Jones keeps him there for the moment.

Sherls fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but Sherls persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jones keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Sherls is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Jones makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jones.

Jones kicks Sherls off and gets to his feet.
Sherls scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Sherls shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Keith Sherls seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sherls throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sherls pivots, looking for a leg kick but Jones is out of range and Sherls settles back down.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sherls throws a right and a left that Jones avoids nicely.

Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sherls misses with a series of wild punches.

Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jones checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Sherls misses with a series of wild punches.
Sherls lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Jones has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sherls finds it's way round the side to connect with Jones's head.
Sherls keeps the fight on the outside.
Sherls tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Sherls pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Jones uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sherls.
Jones fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Sherls checks it well.
A solid leg kick lands there for Jones.

Sherls shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sherls showed some decent athleticism there.
Sherls wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Jones uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Mike Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.
